I have a website, but I don't know much about technical stuff. How can I participate in your program?
Just put one of the banners or a text link on your main page (or a high traffic sub-page on your site). The banners are located at http://www.antion.com/associates/banners.htm .This is the most common way to link to The Great Speaking Center. Generally, the more the banner is toward the top of your page, the more visitors will click on it, resulting in more referral fees for you. Simple text links are very effective especially when you endorse our product.
If you have a webmaster, simply tell he/she that you want to participate in our program and that you want banner and text links placed on your site. Give your webmaster the following link so that he/she can learn about the program http://www.antion.com/associates/assoc_program.htm
If you maintain your site yourself, but you aren't too sure about more advanced processes, simply put our banner and/or text links at prominent areas of your website and link them to us using the link associated with what ever banner you think is most appropriate for your visitors. The links are at the top of each banner page. Don't forget to put your associate ID number wherever you see "XXXXXX"
If your site is brand new, you probably don't have many visitors yet. Don't be discouraged. As you do the necessary things to promote your own website, more and more people will come to your site and more and more people will be exposed to our banner and text links. If you don't promote your site, no one will come. After you join our program and post our links on your website, we will help you learn what you need to promote your site by supplying you with an audio tape which lays out a plan of action for you to increase the number of visitors to your site.
LET ME REPEAT: If you have no one coming to your site, you will not make any money from putting our banners on your site. This does not mean you can't make any money from our program because you can still post free classified ads, put our links in your Email newsletter, write articles for other websites and Email newsletters, put our link address on your promotional materials and simply tell others about our link. We encourage you highly to learn the techniques of getting more visitors to your site. This way your site will benefit and you will get more people to see the links which means a much greater chance that you will make lots of money.
We calculate sales from the 1st of one month to midnight of the last day of the same month. All referral checks are mailed within 10 business days after the last day of every month.
How many people will buy out of the visitors we send you?
Well we don't know. It depends on the nature of your website and the type of visitor you send us. It also depends on you selecting the correct banner or text link so that the type of visitor that you get will be enticed to buy. For example: If you have a site that caters to business opportunity seekers and you put a banner up that says "ATTENTION TRAINERS" you are not likely to get very many of your visitors to click on the banner. Certainly some business opportunity seekers are Toastmasters, but that would only be a very small percentage.
From what I understand the Internet average is one person out of 720 will buy. This is not very good. You must take into account that most people on the Internet are not savvy marketers like we are and do not have good sales copy on their websites. We do.
After our links are on your site for a while you will be able to get a better feel about how many of your visitors are clicking on your links and how many are buying. You can check this any time day or night by going to your stats page. Before you make any major changes in your banner or link placement try to get about 3000 click-throughs so you have a big enough sample to get a reliable ratio of click-throughs to sales.
Then you can experiment with different banners and placements on your site to see which ones get a better ratio of sales.
Some sites can actually get a sale out of each 30-40 visitors they send, but to get that kind of response they must post a personal recommendation to give the "Wake 'em Up Speaking System" and our other products credibility to their website visitors. You will find samples of how to post your personal recommendation elsewhere in your sales information.
How do I fit The Great Speaking Associates Program into my website?
Overview:
No matter how you integrate it into your website, we give you complete
control. You can have one of our banners on your site as the link to The Great Speaking Center, OR you can just have a text link to us directly from your
main page, your "other links" page, or wherever you deem appropriate
at your site. We recommend that you link to us on your main page because of the
exposure. For example; you could just have a Speaker Shop banner on your main
page, OR your could have us listed in your main menu (if applicable). You may say
something like:
"The Great Speaking Center - Lots of tips, techniques and secrets for being a great speaker and for making money part time or full time in the speaking business."
We recommend the main page because it has the highest exposure to your visitors, and of course, the more people that link to The Great Speaking Center website, the more people who buy our Home Study Course The Wake 'em Up Video Professional Speaking System and/or other Speaker Shop products, the more money you make. This will be explained in more detail when you receive your Welcome Package after signing up and being approved. Here are a couple of other pointers for listing The Great Speaking Center at your website.
Placing our banner(s) on your site:
This is the most common and easiest way to earn referral fees. Simply place a
Great Speaking Speaker Shop banner on high traffic parts of your website for
visitors to click on. Banners are located at http://www.antion.com/associates/banners.htm
Topically-oriented websites:
Most websites, especially those that focus on a particular subject area, will
want to set up a link from their main page used specifically to link to The Great Speaking Center. In other words, with your selections on your main
page (main menu), you would have The Great Speaking Center as an option.
It would look as if The Great Speaking Center is part of your website, but
it is really going to our website.
Magazine-styled sites:
Sites featuring articles, reviews and interviews may want to use a different
approach. You could post Interviews with stories about the author, Tom
Antion, and course reviews on The
Wake 'em Up Video Professional Speaking System. Linking the speaking system's title
in context of a review or article is a simple way to make it available for sale.
You could also insert
a phrase like "(more information about this course)" or "(order
this course)", next to the title, and link from there instead.
For this kind of website, a "suggested reading" list might also be a good idea. For example, suppose that you include an article discussing the business of professional speaking (We will provide this for you. It's called Speaking 4 Money). You might include a "suggested reading" list at the end of the article, including a link to The Great Speaking Center. We will go into detail on how to make your link in the "Welcome Package" you get by email as soon as you join our associate program.
Overview:
Simply stated, you link to The Great Speaking Center website. In turn,
we'll run everything for you by recording, processing and fulfilling your
customer orders on our secure credit card system and on our advanced tracking
method that makes sure you get credit even if the customer calls, faxes or mails
their order.
Your visitors will visit your website and link to The Great Speaking Center webpage you present to them either by a banner or text link on your site. They order The Wake 'em Up Video Professional Speaking System and other products by using our secure online ordering process, calling our 800 #, or by faxing or mailing in their order. They will receive their course shipments via US. Priority Mail directly from us. To you it is all hands free. We do all the work and you receive a referral check every month for linking to The Great Speaking Center.
In more detail:
First, your customers will browse your website and find the description of The Great Speaking Center
that you have included in your pages. If your
description catches their interest and they wish to find out more, they would
follow the link you provide to The Great Speaking Center website located
at www.antion.com. We will then display the pages where they can get great tips
on public speaking, making money speaking and marketing their products and
services on the Internet. There are also webpages that
explain each product, where the customer can order directly online, through our
800#, or by mailing in a check. Once the customer begins to finalize an order, The Great Speaking Center
ordering software takes over. From this point
forward, they'll get complete customer service directly from The Great Speaking Center. We will send each customer the products they order via US Priority
Mail (insured airmail if out of the USA). We will handle all of the financial transactions. Our customer service
department will answer any questions or requests they have about their orders,
including cancellations or returns as necessary.
Will The Great Speaking Center supply me with product descriptions, reviews or scans of cover art?
Yes. Interview and course reviews are available. However, we do recommend that you try linking to us by direct text links or banner links before you introduce reviews or interviews with the author at your website. Our research show this works better initially.
Can we take the order on our website instead, and just send you the customer information afterward?
No. We are solely responsible for developing and presenting our free tips and course's descriptions/stats, therefore we can update the site as necessary with new additions, new order processing options, price changes, etc. The Great Speaking Center cannot be responsible for any errors in your descriptions of these tips or products offered, by you not updating your pages as often as we do. We also offer a secure website which is essential in collecting online orders.
How do you calculate referral fees?
Referral fees are earned on each sale: Every order placed through your sponsoring website with The Great Speaking Center online order system, through the 800# order line, by faxing it in, or by mailing in a check will be eligible for a 20% or 50% referral fee depending on what products you sell (downloadable and CDs we produce get the highest commission). For any sub-associates that sell our products, you will get a 5% sub-associate fee for anything they sell. Products sold by The Great Speaking Center to your visitors will be sold at the same price offered in The Great Speaking Center main webpage. Any discount being offered to our customers will also apply to customers who follow special links from your sponsoring website. This also applies for any of our other products. How will you keep track of the orders coming from my site?
We will provide you with specially formatted URL's that you will use to link to our site. These URL's will identify a particular "Associate Number" for us to display, and your unique store code which we use to track your referral fees as they are earned. This number is assigned to you after you apply for the associates program. Our custom designed software then hides that associate number in all forms of ordering the products. The associates number is hidden in HTML code of the online order forms so the customer never even sees it. If they order via mail or fax in order forms it is hidden in the address as a "suite" number...like "1123 Fir Ave, Suite #9834". For all 800# orders, they are required to give a "publication number" or "extension number" to get their special online price that is published on the webpage (again, so we can track your orders).
Note that we have very sophisticated software that goes beyond any other
tracking software available.
To give you just the basics, we not only use cookies to store your associates
number in the appropriate webpages for order tracking, but if the visitor's
browser has the "cookies" feature turned off, our software falls back
to CGI scripting to track the order. This insures that you get credit for EVERY
order that is placed from a visitor that linked to us from your website. No
other businesses that have associates programs that we are aware of, use this
kind of technology to verify that you get paid for EVERY single order from
visitors that come from your website. We are a step ahead of any other tracking
software out there.
If you don't understand what "cookies" are... don't worry... we were just trying to explain to those people who have questions about this, how we "cover all the basics" to ensure that you get credit for every sale generated through your link(s) to The Great Speaking Center. If someone visits The Great Speaking Center through your link to our site and does not buy one of our products right away...but returns within 2 years to purchase one... you will still get credit for that sale and earn your referral fee as the cookie stays in place for 2 years (and if they have their "cookies" turned off on their browser, our CGI tracking software will always point to your reference number if they bookmark us and return later to purchase). This is a very big advantage to you as you get paid referral fees for purchases in the future!
How will I know how many of each product were sold by The Great Speaking Center?
Once you join, we give you a special web page where you can view how many visitors have traveled from your site to The Great Speaking Center and how many of each product were sold on a daily basis (including the customer's name and how they ordered). You will receive an email copy of each order moments after it is placed (for your records). You will receive your referral fee check on a monthly basis (we mail out checks within 10 days after the 1st of each month). Note that most orders are placed online, but a small percentage are placed through the 800# or are mailed in.
What kind of income can I expect?
If you do the promotional techniques that we supply you, low traffic websites can expect $150.00 - $600.00 a month. Heavier traveled sites can expect $1000.00 - $2500.00 a month, and large sites can expect $4000+ a month. It depends on the type of people that visit your site, how many visitors you receive monthly, and how much exposure you give the link(s) to The Great Speaking Center.
I want to buy things from the Speaker Shop. Is there a discount?
Yes, there is a discount! You can purchase directly through the link that you have to The Speaker Shop at your site (the same one that all your visitors link through). You will pay the full price on your credit card at the site, but you will get your referral fee at the end of the month on your own purchase (a pretty nice discount!). This also give you a great opportunity to see how the tracking system works first hand (check our stats right before you order and then right after you order, and you will see the sales counter go up by one).
If you do not have a copy of the Wake 'em Up Video Professional Speaking System yet, and/or Click: The Ultimate Guide to Electronic Marketing for Speakers I suggest you pick one up. By having a course and evaluating it, you will feel more comfortable in recommending it and you will get very motivated to promote it (and earn more referral fees).
I have clicked through my special link many times, but it only shows 1 visitor. What is wrong?
Our tracking software is very sophisticated and compensates for people returning to the site many times a month. It would take a while to explain all the technical stuff, so I will avoid that and try to explain it in simple terms. If you try to link through the banner/link you placed on your site over and over, the "visitor" counter on your special reporting page will show it as only one visitor. This is because it is "you" coming back again and again (you are just 1 visitor coming back again and again). The software is set up to do this so the visitor numbers are always accurate and you can always figure out the real sales to visitor ratio (the ratio of how many visitors it took to get one sale).
Whether the visitor is "counted" or not has nothing to do with the fact that your associates referral number is ALWAYS coded in all the Great Speaking webpages and if that visitor ever orders within the next 2 years, you will get your referral fee.
I have been an associate for a month and have not received any referral fees yet. What is going on?
You have to be getting a reasonable amount of visitors to your site before you can start earning any reasonable amount of referral fees. I say this because some people expect to get huge referral fees when they are only getting a few hundred visitors to their site every month (and this is mathematically impossible). The fact of the matter is that if you are not getting many visitors to your site, then you will not get many people linking through to The Great Speaking Center and you will not be making a lot in referral fees. YOU MUST PROMOTE YOUR SITE TO GET VISITORS!!! I strongly suggest you get a good statistics package so that you know how many people are coming to your site and where they are coming from. Your webmaster will help you with this. Knowing this information will allow you to make the necessary changes to keep improving your site and the number of visitors you get. The more people that come to your site, the more valuable your site will be to you!
No matter how small your site is, you can still make large commissions by using the other ideas outlined in your sales help page.
My sales are not that high, but I get lots of traffic to my site. What is wrong?
Don't worry if your initial sales are not that strong. It may take several months of "tweaking" to see what is most effective for your particular site. Now don't get me wrong, you need a lot of traffic to your site to be receiving large checks from us. Do everything you can to increase your site's traffic. That not only helps you achieve the goal of your site, but it also increases the number of visitors that see our banner/link which increases your chance that they will buy.
